What’s Your Story?

by

Same Old Thinking. Same Old Results. Are you telling the story of your life the way you want it to be? Too
often people tell a story about all the things that they don’t want. Most often, it’s negative thoughts that they have been carrying around—or sometimes even a vision of fear.

In a conversation with several people the other day, they asked me if I had seen a certain study on stress and tension and how tension and stress is extremely high among students and society in general in North America.

They went on to say how more people are sick, more people are dying of cancer, no one feels secure and the worst hasn’t happened yet. Not sure where they get all this stuff.

It wasn’t a healthy conversation, and I didn’t stick around. I think– no, I know–that that was the right choice for me. And I would recommend that each of you do the same thing if you find yourself in a similar situation. Get away from negativity as soon as possible because if you adopt a perception of the world that is negative and degrading, then it is time to tell yourself a different story.

There is always going to be good and bad, daylight and darkness, rich and poor, summer and winter. Life is much like nature.

Nature is not perfect or complete. It is a “work in progress.” So, we are not living in a perfect world, and I am not so sure it would be all that great if we were. We need contrast in order to change, improve and grow. The world is “evolving,” not “devolving” although if you watch CNN and other news stations it would seem otherwise.

Our minds are powerful. They are so creative that we have to watch what we tell ourselves, what we listen to and all the conversations we have. Our subconscious mind has no judgement. It just is, and accepts what we feed it, wanted or unwanted.

Abraham would say it like this:
“Without exception what you give thought to (wanted or unwanted), you begin to invite into your experience…you create the world through the creation of your point of view.”

Take a few minutes right now to figure out what is most meaningful, most inspiring and most purposeful for you.

What do I want? Why do I want it?

When you do that, you allow things to happen. You find a cure for your health, you meet the right person, you’re offered a better job.
