Have you ever wondered what makes a seed become a pumpkin or a carrot? Being raised on our  family farm, and having worked as a farmer for thirty years, I have seen this miracle happen time and time again. In my opinion, whether we are talking about vegetables that grow in the garden, or individuals that are born into this world, both are amazing miracles that come from the same source.

Allow me to explain.  You see, during my time as a farmer, I was involved with numerous farming-related and social justice organizations and was given the opportunity to work with and be mentored by leaders at the national and international level.  I have traveled extensively and have lived in and worked in third world countries.

This experience not only gave me specific skills and knowledge that I use on a daily basis, it has also nurtured my personal and professional development. Similarly, I owe much of my inspiration to my wife Linda. Together, we nurtured our relationship while facing adversity and many challenges along the way.  We raised four successful children; Tia, Terry, Cindy and Gail. Through taking care of our family to the best of our ability, our family has grown with 10 beautiful grandchildren.
